A Personal Challenge

In this year dedicated to keep on walking, I have chosen to challenge myself to walk as many of the Texas State Park hiking trails as I can in preparation for the ultimate test of the Appalachian Trail. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail, generally known as the Appalachian Trail or simply the A.T., is a marked hiking trail in the Eastern United States extending between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine. It is about 2,200 miles in length and will take me approximately 6 months to complete. Starting on March the 3rd I will be attempting to hike on average 10 miles a day with a 40 pound pack on my back all while sleeping under the stars. Bring it on. Keep on walking. Never stop walking.
